ARTIST BIO

Carmel was born and raised in San Francisco, a third generation native. She always enjoyed art, even the mandatory high school art classes. After high school she continued with general art classes, for a short period of time, at City College. It was not until her daughter went off to college that she realized she needed something to keep her busy. So, she picked up a brush and paints and discovered her passion for watercolor. She is in love with capturing the joy of flowers and seeing the everyday world as shapes, lights, darks, and shadows and transforming them into a colorful piece of art on paper.
While painting she always expects the unexpected and welcomes happy watercolor accidents. She has been blessed to have studied with some of the Bay Area’s most extraordinary artists and continues to grow and improve everyday.
