Many shows and many wonderful teachers and friends painting in the great outdoors, we all teach other and enjoy the process of evolving the masterpieces. I have long pursued the arts and find wonderful satisfaction and intense pleasure derived in plein air painting. Each day is a new source of learning. this is inspired by reading, studying paintings of my favorite masters such as Matisse, Monet and Van Gogh. Also many later artists such as Edgar Payne and Granville Redmond. My current teachers never cease to inspire me, as well, such as Ovanes Barbarian, Brigit Curt, Jim Smith, Brian Blood, and#2, Joanna Baciocco RaymondMendiata. Traveling in Europe has been a successful experience with our family and very gratifying artistically. My husband Gene and I together with our children, have fallen in love with Italy and France, going back to search our roots. Later came India, Africa, and the far eastern countries. I have photographed Monet’s garden in many seasons and always return there in my thoughts when painting as I have several prints in my studio. I have been so fortunate to have a daughter who has pursued a photography career, due to her many trips to Europe. To be a Bay area artist has been my dream and painting the golden coast will never lose its appeal. The golden hills and beautiful skies are constantly changing and always appealing to paint in our wonderful Mediterrean climate. I hope to put all this into my paintings to sooth#3, Joanna Bacioccoe our souls and satisfy our minds. It’s truly a wonderful, life long passion to enjoy with my fellow artists.

Yours truly, Joanna Baciocco.
